Burn
is spearheaded by Billy Rajah. "Rajah", the word conjures
visions of kings, majesty, nobility and opulence: none of which
contradicts the artist, entertainer...Billy Rajah.
A charming and charismatic young man, Billy plays a variety
of instruments and is also a singer-songwriter with original music.
He is an ethereal, energetic and sentient human being as well
as a tremendously talented individual.
Billy's mother is of Malaysian descent, while his father is from
India. He integrates his multicultural background along with his
travels around the world into his music and personal faith. He
believes in God, the universe and Karma.
As a child, his future as an entertainer was evident as he played
air-guitar broomstick to the music of KISS. At age 14, he acquired
his first guitar and began writing his own songs. To date he has
written several hundred original compositions. Billy states, "I
like to think of musicians as modern prophets sent here to reach
people in a very deep and personal level - to keep in synch with
emotions everyone can relate to." Whether it be love or sorrow,
elation or despair, Billy can take you there.
Playing music and writing songs is Billy's passion and driving
force in life. He stays true to his art and maintains his integrity
by producing music with his innermost feelings. He has opened
shows for Toto, Chicago, English Beat, and was broadcast nationally
on the Downtown Julie Brown Show on new year's eve 2001.
He was also voted top three at Music Connection Magazines' search
for LA's best musical arts. He was also voted "LA's Finest"
at the Roxbury's search for Favorite Musical Act. Billy has performed
to sold out crowds at the Whisky, Roxy, Roosevelt Hotel and many
other venues. Billy's new album with Burn speaks for itself. Enjoy
it.
